The Bacău Active Development Association transforms Romania through learning

“At ADA we firmly believe that young people are the present, and their development and involvement must become a priority for all actors in society. We also believe that young people can change the world if they are allowed and supported to do so. That’s why all our projects have young people at their center and regardless of the themes and topics addressed, through everything we do we aim to empower young people and equip them with the skills they need to develop and actively participate in the life of communities local, county, national or European level”.

Ada objectives

Our goals include:

supporting, organizing and carrying out activities to improve the quality of life, including supporting legislative initiatives aimed at achieving the necessary framework for economic, political, social, cultural, educational, ecological and tourism development;
identification of problems at local, regional and national level; designing solutions in partnership with public and private sector actors;
the organization of training courses, seminars, conferences, public debates, as well as the organization of marches, public demonstrations and other activities to raise awareness of public opinion on the importance of active development;
development and implementation of measures and actions aimed at the development of human resources in the perspective of maintaining and (re)integrating disadvantaged people into the labor market.
promoting the importance of education and civic responsibility in the active development of society;

carrying out activities to combat negative social phenomena at the level of vulnerable groups: campaigns, counseling programs, integration programs, specialized consultancy;
developing collaborations and partnerships with other specialized institutions and associations from the country and abroad;
supporting environmental and biodiversity protection projects, as an essential component for effective development;
increasing the quality of environmental factors and preserving natural resources by stimulating the adoption of an eco-conscious lifestyle among the population;
promoting communities and local development potentials, through activities that are consistent with geographical, ecological, cultural characteristics and through the use of existing human and natural resources;

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

How the Association for Active Development was formed

The Association for Active Development was formed as a result of the Youth.ways project of the informal youth group Youth.now, a group formed in the summer of 2011 out of passion for non-formal education and the involvement of young people in community life.

The ADA team is made up of two generations of volunteers between the ages of 16 and 25. Roles within ADA are divided not only according to experience, but especially according to their learning objectives. In the three years of activity, we managed to develop an efficient work team, with clear responsibilities, energetic and full of initiative.
